Township Intabazwe lies on a flat mountain near the town of Harrismith in the province of Free State. With 56,000, the township has the highest population of the entire Harrismith region and 75% of them are youth. Half of the population consists of Zulu people and half of Sothos, a unique situation in the Free State. Here in Intabazwe are the roots of Stichting Intabazwe.
Due to the departure of our contact person, Muhle Joyce Mthembu, we have been unable to realize any projects for Intabazwe since 2005. Later serious disturbances with a lot of vandalism also broke out in Intabazwe.
