Dance for All (DFA)
In the townships around Cape Town, "Dance for All" gives dance lessons to around 200 children at various locations on five afternoons per week. The main building is made available for free and is in Athlone. Classes include ballet, African dance, jazz ballet, modern dance and Spanish dance. DFA is designated sponsor money.
Talented children can be included in the so-called Junior Training Program. The most talented dancers and dancers from the Junior Training Program can continue to the Senior Training Program. For promising young people, who pursue a career in the dance world, there is the opportunity to follow a course at the University of Cape Town School of Dance. Many also go abroad (temporarily).
The Intabazwe Foundation has been sponsoring Dance for All yearly since 2006.
In 2009 and 2016, Hanni and Jos made impressive visits to Dance for All.
